Arsenal’s summer transfer activity continues to heat up with a new name rising to the top of their left-wing wish list — Eberechi Eze of Crystal Palace. According to fresh reports, the Gunners have already initiated talks with the attacking midfielder, who recently turned 27 and had a standout end to the 2024/25 season.

Eze’s form was electric after the March international break, where he netted nine goals and three assists in just 13 matches, playing a pivotal role in Palace’s FA Cup triumph. His contributions helped the Eagles finish their Premier League campaign on a high and potentially earn a Europa League spot, although their qualification remains uncertain.


With a reported £68 million release clause, Eze presents a more realistic and financially manageable option compared to the likes of Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, valued at around £77m. Arsenal is also reportedly weighing up other alternatives like Nico Williams and Benjamin Sesko, but Eze's Premier League experience gives him a unique edge.


Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are also in the race, with new head coach Thomas Frank eyeing Eze as part of his rebuild. However, Arsenal’s renewed interest signals serious intent, especially as they aim to retool the squad after falling short of the title in recent seasons.


Some pundits argue that Arsenal’s failure to add a creative playmaker like Eze last summer contributed to their 10-point gap behind champions Liverpool. Could 2025 be the year they correct that mistake?


With Mikel Arteta looking to strengthen the attacking midfield position and complement stars like Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Ødegaard, a signing like Eze could be the spark Arsenal needs to push back into the title race.
